Heart Foundation Autumn Appeal Video: Wayne Broady’s Story

For the 2024 Autumn Appeal, the Heart Foundation commissioned a Heart Foundation Autumn Appeal video to share Wayne Broady’s inspiring journey. Wayne, 52, suffered a massive heart attack while swimming in 2017. After months in hospital and time on a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), he received a donated heart. This life-changing gift transformed his future.

Wayne’s story is one of resilience, hope, and gratitude. In April 2023, he represented Team Australia at the World Transplant Games in Perth. He won medals and celebrated the gift of life that saved him. Along the way, he became a passionate advocate for heart health and organ donation.

Video Production and Shoot Details

We filmed both video and stills at Wayne’s home and the pool. The shoot included interviews, campaign-specific lines, and personal reflections. We also captured b-roll of Wayne’s active lifestyle. Portrait and lifestyle shots were taken for social media and website use.

Each element of the Heart Foundation Autumn Appeal video was designed to be authentic and emotional. The content connects viewers to Wayne’s story and motivates support for the Heart Foundation’s vital work in heart health and organ donation.
