Client: Wildlife Victoria

Wildlife Victoria is one of Victoria’s most vital not for profit charities, operating a statewide wildlife emergency response service since 1989. Running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, their network of over 1,300 trained volunteers responds to public reports of injured and distressed wildlife at no cost to the community.

The Brief

Wildlife Victoria needed a compelling hero video to communicate the breadth and heart of their work, something that could live on their website, support fundraising and connect with a broad public audience. The challenge was capturing an organisation that operates across the entire state, around the clock, through the eyes of the people who make it possible: volunteers, veterinarians and the wildlife they protect.

What We Did

Pre-Production: We developed a narrative structure that wove together three distinct voices: Wildlife Victoria’s leadership, frontline veterinary expertise and a personal rescue story. Creating this into a single, cohesive three minute film. Locations, talent, and shoot logistics were carefully planned across 2x Half day shoots in Melbourne.

Production:

Shoot one took us to Fitzroy, where we sat down with Gracia and Louise from Tiny but Wild. Wildlife rescuers and artists, their work celebrates native Australian flora and fauna, making them a natural fit as a case study. We also filmed with a veterinarian from the Travelling Veterinary Service, a mobile, field deployable team operating seven days a week from fully equipped 4WD vehicles across Nunawading and West Gippsland.

Shoot two moved to Abbotsford, where we filmed Wildlife Victoria’s CEO alongside a staff member, grounding the story in the organisation’s broader mission and impact.

Post-Production: We edited the footage into a 3 minute “Who We Are” hero video, balancing interview driven storytelling with visual context.

The Outcome

The finished film gives Wildlife Victoria a powerful, human centred piece of content that communicates their scale, impact and the community behind their work. From the CEO’s vision, to a vet treating animals in the field, to two artists answering rescue calls on weekends, the video brings their mission to life in a way a brochure never could.

Just as importantly, the project reflects the power of creative work as a contribution. By delivering this piece pro bono, we were able to support Wildlife Victoria in amplifying their message and continuing the vital work they do for the community and its wildlife.
