Welcome to Hume Girls Can Campaign
Hume City council asked us to create a video series featuring women and girls from the community participating in local activies. They wanted the series to be engaging and inspirational to others in the community and offered up a wide range of topics and participants. This video was one example in the series and featured Caroline who had fallen in love with swimming as a means to stay active and keep fit. We went along withe her to her favourite public swimming pool in Broadmeadows and interviewed her poolside about why she enjoyed getting in her daily laps. Clients will often have concerns about shooting interviews in noisy environments and this is a good example of one way to handle that challenge. By framing the interview with the pool and activity going on in the background, the audience can see the reason for any noise and will accept it without thinking. In this way, we can turn what might seem like a problem into a plus, what was noise is now atmosphere. This shoot also gave us an opportunity to get the Go-Pro cameras out and capture some underwater action shots, all without our crew getting wet.
