During Melbourne’s COVID lockdowns at the height of the pandemic, a lot of industries were shuttered. The Health industry was obviously not one of them. St Vincent’s Hospital, one off our regular clients, needed to get messages out more than ever. This video was produced with the goal of keeping hospital visitors informed as to available services and what to expect when they visited the hospital. Telling information through video format allows viewers to connect to the speaker a lot more so than a written post or email. So looking straight down the barrel of the camera with their faces covered, front line staff were really able to hit home with consumers the importance of following hospital regulations and rules. The pieces to camera were tightly scripted and staff read from autocue. We added a gentle, almost subliminal, push-in in the edit subtly pulling the audience into the piece.
