RCHF Appeal Video – Short-Form Digital Impact

For this year’s campaign, the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation (RCHF) wanted a fresh approach for their RCHF Appeal video. Rather than a long storytelling piece, the focus was on short, impactful content for digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The goal was to capture attention immediately while still forming a strong emotional connection with viewers.

The story centred on 14-year-old Noah, diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease at just 8. Noah also experiences multiple strokes but remains intellectually typical. His condition initially came with a life expectancy of only 10 years. While no gene therapy currently exists for his disease, his doctor, Andrew, highlighted the critical importance of a dedicated Gene Therapy Centre.

Noah’s mum, Kat, shared her gratitude for the care he has received at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She believes this care has played a key role in keeping him alive. Additionally, the family has raised money for the Foundation and other causes, with Noah even being recognised by the Stroke Association for his efforts.

Creating Emotional Connection

The RCHF Appeal video was designed to inspire donations by showing the real-life impact of the Foundation’s work. Through Noah’s story, viewers see how contributions directly support children with rare and life-limiting conditions. By combining candid interviews, expressive visuals, and heartfelt storytelling, the video demonstrates the power of community support and medical innovation.
