We partnered with Alkira to create a special 70th anniversary documentary video, celebrating the organisation’s incredible seven decades of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. Established in 1954, Alkira has always been about inclusion, community and enriching lives, and we wanted the film to capture that spirit.
To make sure we told this story authentically, we conducted over 20 pre-interviews with staff, participants, family members and board members. From these, we shortlisted a mix of voices that reflected Alkira’s impact across the years. One of the standout participants was Tara, who’s been with Alkira for many years. She’s not only a key part of the community but also a talented artist. We filmed her interview and then captured some beautiful overlay footage of her painting, showing her in her element and bringing her story to life.
